Someone, somewhere, recently posted about "things in the fandom that squick you or cause your horrified/embarrassed/whatever alert to go off."

(it might have been locked, and i've forgotten who posted it. Sorry.)

They were talking about actual episodes of shows, like, you know, the Star Trek TOS episode with the mime-chick who "heals" people's pain by taking it on herself? And let me tell you, I'd rather watch, "Spock's Brain" than that episode. Ever.

Anyway, geez. Apparently David Hewlett did some kind of rap, on video, to respond to someone who did one at him, or some such. I tried watching it, and I got about 15 seconds in and I was scrabbling for the "JANE! STOP THIS CRAZY THING!!!!" button. Because, sheesh.

FUCKING. ACTORS. DO NOT FEED THE FREAKS.

Even if you are one yourself.

Sheesh.

Disclaimer 2: I have known a quantity of actors in a previous life. I have a couple in the family as well.

Disclaimer 3: I am a fan. I have written fanfic. But I know the difference between the actor and the role. There's a reason I keep two LJs. I keep the fan side of my life separate from my personal & professional life, just as actors and their roles are two different things.

Lastly: I realize very few people read my LJ, so I'm mostly spouting off to myself. Sometimes you just have to get things off your chest. [Should you actually think I wrote something useful and want to tell someone about it, feel free, but I figure I'm just yelling at myself here (-: ]
