The new BSG series is called a "reimagining" of the old series. A lot of the basics are the same: There's a big-ass ship, called a Battlestar, there are smaller ships, called Vipers. There's bad guys, called Cylons, and the bad guys destroy the twelve colonies that humanity lives on, sending a pile of ships off into space, trying to find a new home, if not Earth.
